As a child, she took flamenco lessons and rode horses. She was discovered by a casting agent at the age of 11 in her school's cafeteria, which led to her first audition for a role in the movie "Interview with the Vampire." Though the part ultimately went to another actress, this marked the beginning of her acting career.
